on fasting

Mathew 9:15 says:

And Jesus said to them, "Can the wedding guests mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast.

Acts 1:11 says:

and said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven."

My thought on both of these verses is that the bridegroom has been taken away, and we do not know when He will return; however, we should be fasting because of the fact that for now, He has been taken away.
